The Proclaimer's sing ...........

IF THERE’S A GOD
WHERE DOES HE GO TO
WHEN DISEASE AND HUNGER
KNOCK ON A DOOR

AND IF THERE’S A GOD
HOW DOES HE DECIDE
THAT SHE’LL BE BORN RICH
BUT HE’LL BE BORN POOR

I DON’T KNOW
CAN YOU TELL ME? OH
CAN YOU TELL ME? OH

IF THERE’S A GOD
WHY DOES HE LET
PEOPLE DIE SLOWLY
RACKED BY PAIN

AND IF THERE’S A GOD
WHO BLESSES WITH CHILDREN
WHY DOES HE STEAL
SOME BACK AGAIN

I DON’T KNOW
CAN YOU TELL ME? OH
CAN YOU TELL ME? OH

IF THERE’S A GOD
WHY IS HE LETTING
VIOLENCE AND MURDER
BE DONE IN HIS NAME

BUT IF THERE’S NO GOD
WHY AM I LYING
HERE IN THE DARK
SAYING HIS NAME
I DON'T KNOW
CAN YOU TELL ME? OH
CAN YOU TELL ME? OH

Crossroads

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine, after the rain ....
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall,
But God's always ready, To answer your call ...
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
A word from His lips, can calm every fear ...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, in dawn's early light ...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
To give you His grace, and send you His love ..
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
"God always sends rainbows .... after the rain ... "

To get out of difficulty, one must usually go through it! God never gives you more than you can bear – so bear it willingly and you will rejoice in your rewards!

Dangerous Flood

ASBO's, what a farce!
Just admittance into the higher ranks on the streets
To shove in the faces of the boys in blue walking the beat.

ASBO's and the 'hug a hoodie' campaign
Just won't work, they won't heal the pain.
They're 'thugs' on the street with 'nothing better to do'
Than to shout abuse, and terrify the likes of me and you.
What will the Government make their aim?
To reach out to these youngsters and heal their pain?

Their violent displays shout out for attention,
It's desperate cry for boundaries and detention.
They form the gangs to provide security;
a new family, broken together, they find some form of solidarity.

Yet their gun shots and stabbings and pouring blood
Scream out their anger as a dangerous flood,
Consuming them outside and inside
As they harden and their hearts they hide.

Anger at Dad who deserted the home,
Leaving Mum struggling to cope on her own.
Seems no-one thought of the kids when they parted.
No-one saw the danger of the family crumbling:
No security, no role-model for the babe crying and mumbling
Maybe they will, when children, to the morgue, get carted.

The world we live in is a world of fear,
Full of pain and anger, questions and tears.
Full of bombs, lies and adultery,
Teens with guns in their pockets and toddlers on their knee
Where violence is OK because they watch it on TV.

The world needs a Saviour to bring some hope;
the kids need to believe there's a way off dope.
To see a different way to drink and destruction,
To offer them love, and against evil, some protection.

The world is crying out as it breaks and shatters.
The people are screaming as they get ripped and blown to tatters.

Yet we have a Saviour who died on a cross
who suffered abuse, rejection, betrayal and personal loss
He lives again so that we may have life.
A different way to the gun and the knife.
He weeps for His children as they push Him away
He weeps for their pain as by their sides He stays.

He calls to you and He calls to me
to open our eyes and around us see
that people are a mess because they reject God
instead worshipping 'stars' as they tune into iPods

Yet we know the Way, the Truth, and the Light
and for all of those hurting and those like little Rhys
We must stand in God and strive for peace .
God calls us to stand against evil and fight,
to show His word, His love.
And to replace wrong with right.
