There is no BOX!

A professor prepared a test for his final year students. The test questions were divided into three categories and the students were instructed to choose questions from only one of the categories. The first questions were the hardest and worth 100 points, the second group was easier and worth 50 points. The third ones were the easiest ones, so were only worth 25 points.

When the tests were marked, the students who'd chosen the hardest 100 point questions received an A grade. The students who'd chosen the 50 point ones received a B grade and those who'd chosen the 25 point easy questions were given a C. The students were furious with the grading of their test paper. but the professor explained, 'I wasn't testing your knowledge; I was testing your aim.'

Many of us do not aspire and dream dreams; we may end up setting our sights really low so as to protect ourselves from failure and disappointment. We're often told to 'think out of the box' but isn't it time we simply realised THERE IS NO BOX?! Let's dream beyond our natural limits to allow a supernatural dimension to kick in.

Dreams are the seedlings of reality. I agree with John Maxwell's insight that 'Without dreams, we will never reach beyond our current circumstances.' One of my favourite movies is called Patch Adams. It's the true story of an American doctor who dreams of building a free hospital which offers courteous care and laughter along with its medicine. In his book Geshundheit Patch Adams wrote:' When a dream takes hold of you ,what can you do? You can run with it, let it run your life or let it go and think for the rest of your life about what might have been.'

As long as our dreams are rooted in Christ, what can we lose if we run with them or even let them run away with us? when writing to the Colossians, the apostle Paul urged people to continue following Jesus, having accepted him as Lord. ' Let your roots grow down into him,' he wrote. 'Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness'(Colossians 2:7).

Imagine how much we might all achieve if we allow our faith to grow. After all, was it not Jesus himself who said: 'I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain,' Move from here to there.' and it would move.' Nothing would be impossible' (Matthew 17:20).

How many mountains have you moved recently? Why not begin in this enormous task by revisiting some of your dreams and aspirations? Perhaps prayerfully ponder with God what this next season of life is meant to be, remembering the words of the 'prophet' Nike: ' Just do it' I like the optimistic attitude of Jonas Salk: 'l have had dreams and I have had nightmares.' he said, 'But I have conquered my nightmares because of my dreams.'

May you know the Lord's goodness, all around the compass and the clock.

Living in a material world?

Go the extra mile

He Walked A Mile
Before the threads of time began
Was pre-ordained a mighty plan
That I should walk with Him alone
The cords of trust unbroken
But fate foresaw my wandering eye
That none could yet restrain
To violate the friendship
I Would cause Him so much pain

And everytime I close my eyes
I see the nails, I hear the cries
He did not keep Himself away
He was no stranger to my pain
He walked a mile in my shoes
He walked a mile

Feet so dusty cracked with heat
But carried on by love's heartbeat
A man of sorrows filled with grief
Forgiveness was His anthem
No feeble blow from tongue or pen
Could ever sway my love for Him
Across the echoed hills
He trod And reached into my world.

All you need is LOOVE

I think i'll give up watching the News it is so negative the content is unrelenting stories of war, death, stabbings global warming, the sad and bad.

A small soundbite I heard on the radio this week made me smile though, a West Indian guy was being interviewed and said he and his friends don't recognise the number 2008 they would of pronounced it Twotousand and hate, so this year will be known as Twotousand and Loove.

Love is patient, love is kind.

Love is patient, love is kind.It is not jealous, it is not pompous,It is not inflated, it is not rude,it does not seek its own interests,it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,it does not rejoice over wrong doing but rejoices with the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.Love never fails.
If there are prophecies, they will be brought to nothing;if tongues, they will cease;if knowledge, it will be brought to nothing. For we know partially and we prophesy partially, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. When I was a child, I used to talk as a child, think as a child, reason as a child;when I became a man, I put aside childish things. At present we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face.At present I know partially;then I shall know fully, as I am fully known. So faith, hope, love remain, these three;but the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:4-13

Is the Church in ruins?

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Ten Little Christians, standing in a line, One disliked the pastor, then there were nine.
Nine little Christians stayed up very late, One slept too late on the Sabbath, then there were eight.
Eight little Christians on their way to Heaven, One took the low road, then there were seven.
Seven little Christians chirping like some chicks, One disliked the music, then there were six.
Six little Christians seemed very much alive, but one lost his interest then there were five.
Five little Christians pulling for heaven's shore, but one stopped to rest, then there were only four.
Four little Christians, each busy as a bee One got her feelings hurt, then there were three.
Three little Christians knew not what to do, One joined the sporting crowd, then there were two.
Two little Christians, our rhyme is nearly done, differed with each other, then there was one.
One little Christian, can't do much 'tis true; brought his friend to Bible study-then there were two.
Two earnest Christians, each won one more, that doubled the number, then there were four.
Four sincere Christians worked early and worked late, Each won another, then there were eight.
Eight splendid Christians, if they doubled as before, In just a few short weeks, we'd have 1,024
In this little jingle, there is a lesson true, You either belong to The Building, Or to the wrecking crew.

KEEP ON PRAYING THAT THE LORDS WILL BE DONE AND THEN WE WILL BE SURE HIS KINGDOM WILL COME

Pass it on

Just a quick thought as we enter a new year.Finding a rare quiet evening in over the Christmas period we so enjoyed the History Boys by Alan Bennett on tv.During which I received a phone call asking me to give a thought for the day at a large family gathering where we were unrelated but invited guests, during the program HB one of the actors playing a teacher spoke the lines in the link below. This spoke to me so I used it in my talk hope it blesses you.
Think outside the box!

We all have a gift, talent, skill or we have a belief in something that has changed our lives for the better so why not PASS IT ON.
